Illustration Friday-EMPTY AND WISDOM

Link

Here are my sketches for last weeks illustration fridays, which seem to come and go so fast, just like this summer.
One topic was, EMPTY. It's so funny watching Sunny learn the concept of volume, lots of overflows, but she's starting to get it.

The other topic was WISDOM, cliche, but who can resist drawing an owl.....

Figs!

http://www.meccagold.com/history.htm

Oh my goodness, we have a FIG tree in our backyard. I can't stop eating them. Each one is amazing and different. I made a fig tart, prosciutto wrapped and grilled, I spread them on toast with almond butter, but the best way is 6 am before anyone wakes up to eat them right off the tree.

The Drawing Club 7/14/05

PIRATE GIRL.....
Bob helped me try out some pen and ink media last night, it was difficult at first, but then I just let the media take me here? Poor cute pirate girl, I turned her into a nasty old skeleton.

The Drawing Club

I've been attending the drawing club on Thursday nights. It's really great, quite a blast. They have great models that dress up in costumes and themed music that goes with it, add coffee and other people who love to draw and it makes for a cool atmosphere. ANyway, here is a sketch from a couple of the models over the past couple of weeks.

Smell the Flowers

My friend Betsy "the gardner" gave me this pretty watercolor calendar when she went to Austria..... what to do with them month after month. Well, after moving, adjusting, parenting and trying to see the positive in all I am doing I made these tiny drawings on top of them. Instead of seperating myself as an artist and a parent and a wife, I am embracing all of the things I am into one self. A happy homemaker indeed.

Now that we are settled in.... I can continue to document my artwork. Hopefully this blog will help motivate me to keep drawing and painting and thinking as an artist.
